Mede8er and Universal Remote Controls
« on: February 08, 2010, 05:51:14 AM »
Hi Guys,

Do any of you use a universal remote control and by any chance now what its 4 digit code is for the IR settings for the Mede8er.  I could do a remote to remote programming, but that uses  quite a bit of memory on the remote and don't have much space left

One for All ==>  URC-8040

many thanks

Hi guys,

It's been a while and I need some help.

Am looking for a good universal remote control that will work with mede8er and also the code. I just need something that will work nothing too fancy or expensive.

Thanks.

Thanks Mike, but most of the harmony one that's currently being sold here in Germany is the more expensive one+ and I can get a new mede8er for that price with a working remote.

I need a cheaper alternative that's confirm to work.

Cheers.

does anyone know if the remote for any of the 3D model of mede8er will work with the MED500X? Am thinking of upgrading. And it will be good to be able to operate the old player with the same remote.

The mapping of the buttons is different from X and X3D.
So most buttons will work, but not all.

I'm also looking for this 4-digit code for my remote.

There are 2 type of remotes:
- ones that have hard coded tables in it, if the device you need is not in the code table of the manual, forget it. Will never work with that remote.
- ones that can learn infrared and can be programmed, e.g. like Logitech Harmony

Thnx Maasbommel.

The remote of the receiver can do both so i'll have to do it manually.

The Harmony Remote is a great piece of kit but it has 1 minor drawback. It shuts down the Med if you decide to switch to regular tv.
I'm looking for a bit more flexibility to leave it on to work on it while watching tv and i think that the m/f remote of the receiver can just do the trick.

As far as I am aware you can also configure it to not shut a device off when switching to another activity.
