Tvixie: easy to use, but more manual to generate the about.jpg files
Yamj: fully automated and fast, and more difficult to setup for the first time. But once setup correctly, you don't want anything else....

how M8R react when try to play a dvd VIDEO_TS  from about.jpg

it will play video dvd with menu from ifo file or it will play first or bigger vob file (no menu structure)?

Yes, the .xml files are in the jukebox directory.

Before using Yamj, I scraped the about.jpg's using TVIXIE but it's  an incredible amount of work to scpe and build over 200 about.jpg's with fanart using TVIXIE,.....
Using Yamj it scraped 200+ about.jpg's with fanart in 25 minutes, while I was watching TV

Yamj rules !!! it would be amazing when the mede8er could connect to the jukebox dir on my NAS.....

trying out yamj for the first time, everything works, but i want to change some stuff
where do i get the template like the one here at the top of my message?
i changed language to dutch, but now more covers arent shown... is there a way to just show the plot in dutch and everything else in english?
Written by is also not filled in, or should i put an nfo file with every movie? (a lot of work lol)
another question is, once you've run, and new titles are in your library , u have to do everything all over again? or can you just add one title too?

i was running yamj, everything ok
then i ran yamj to mede8er, everything ok
i installed the aon skin, and some mods
rerun yamj
now i run yamj to mede8er and i get following error

I you use this package http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,2701.0.html you will get the skin you want. Only need to change setting for Dutch language (moviemeter api).

anyway before adjusting that again im using the standard thing.
i ran a test again , and again ,like with tvixie; it doesnt do what it should do
with video_ts structures i get rare things
one time, he show me the correct movie
with another movie, he just picks a random other movie to play
and with a third, he doenst play anything at all but flips back to d:\movies folder

rare thing, i think its a bug inside mede8er?

i already downloaded that package, it has only 5 skins (2 HDskins) but not the aon skin... like the one above showing "shooter"

I tried It like you mentioned in this topic before, see also my post from a few days ago. For some reason I still got English  please help ;-)

In the YAMJ folder there's no moviejukebox.properties file. There is one in the Properties folder. In the folder there's also a moviejukebox-default.properties file...
I added it to the moviejukebox.proprties file, so it looks like this:

That is probably because your moviejukebox folder already contains things in english and generated things are not overwritten by default by Yamj.

Just empty your jukebox folder and regenerate it by running the My_YAMJ.cmd file

Is there a way to use the eg moviemeter thumbnails as well?
