Somewhere it is stated that you have to put each movie into a seperate folder. I wonder if this is still true if you want to use YAMJ for the jukebox creation. With my 3600 movies this would be really a pain in the neck!!

Yes, still needs to be in a folder..... If you want to make use of video wall and about.jpg movie plot view.
If no need to use those features, you can just leave it like it is....

But for somebody that has organised his collection that would not be so painfull....
Do you really mean that you have placed all those movies in just a few folders?

there is some software that will place all your files in separate folders automatically for you and name them the same as the file, i did this for a laurel and hardy collection i had 145 films.

Im sorry i just cant remember the name of it just looked on my laptop but i dont have it anymore since i updated to win 7, i did find it through google though

Thank you for your answers!
I have organized my collection on 5 x 1.5TB HDs with nothing else on the disks. Filesnames are stored in an excel sheet with the diskname as reference, so they are very easy to find. I still dont quite understand why one has to increase complexity ( folders) where the corresponding files can easily accessed by NAME + ending. So putting in the folders just complicates everything.

But maybe I overlook something.
