RobinC's program is an External Universal Aggregator..doing the same job as the new internal aggregator..but with bells and whistles. You still use the standard scraper of your choice.

It does require a bit more work to find complicated filelinks. The internal aggregator makes that  easier and will suit most peoples  needs...but anyone reaching it's limits and wanting more will be pointed at Robinc's program.

Ok thanks. So if I continue to use the internal aggregator, I do need to re-scan favorite folders when I add movies to my external HDD. But do I need to re-scan the "jukebox +" icon?

You shouldn't  have to scan jukebox+ at all, "Add to Jukebox" includes a scan. I'm not sure if you have to update the database for the standard jukebox either.  "Add" might just work off the folders, and add the new one. I will ask.

In the mean time you can experiment yourself. Can you add (including med compatible scrape) a movie to the "standard" host jukebox without scanning...use "Add to Jukebox" on the parent jukebox folder to get it added to jukebox+, also  without scanning?

I see that there was an earlier question posted about the ability to create multiple aggregated jukeboxes using the new firmware.  Just a follow up question:  Would it be possible to add multiple aggregated jukeboxes if one weren't mixing movies and TV Shows (as the prior post referenced), but just combining movies?  For example, I have "DVD" kid's movies stored on my local Mede8er HDD while I have "Blu-ray" kid's movies stored on my NAS.  I'd like to combine these DVD and Blu-ray kid's movies into a single "kid's movies" jukebox.  Moreover, I'd like to do the same for other movie categories (such as documentaries) where I have stored the DVD documentaries stored on one drive but the Blu-ray documentaries stored on another drive.  This will obviously require multiple aggregated jukeboxes.  Can this be done using the new firmware?  If so, how does one direct the Mede8er to add movies to one aggregated jukebox (e.g. kid's movies) versus another aggregated jukebox (e.g. documentaries)?

Thanks!!!

RobinC's program is better for that.

I can tell you how to  do  this with the internal aggregator..but we don't want to complicate the issue for the majority of users. Some have not yet grasped what it does in it's advertised form.

Would you mind dropping me a personal email with the instructions for how this is done within the Mede8er interface?

Ok well what I did (after using yadis + yadis2mede8er) was scanning my folder in favorites, then selecting "add to jukebox" for this same folder.

First, before scanning, I went to this folder (jukebox view set to "on" of course) but the new movie did not show up, that is why I chose to scan.

Ok, I added, removed and modified movie info in yadis. I 're-scanned the appropriate folders, so everything is good in the regular jukebox. But in the aggregated jukebox, the old information is still shown, even the deleted movies. Do I need to scan the jukebox+ for allow it to update?

NO...you  are finding some "holes" in features needed to make it work.  We need to  a way  to "empty" the current jukebox+ folder so  that  you can Add everything again.  In the meantime, use Medlibrary to delete the jukbox+ folder..and then create it again, both using the edit menu.

Thanks for the info. But hopefully you'll be able to fix this eventually. Since I usually only add one or two movies at a time on my external hard drive, it's a bit of a pain to redo the aggregated jukebox every time. In the meantime, I think I'll just continue to use the regular jukebox.

New functions are at the top of the list for  fixing because that is where their "mindset" is focussed. It may  be frustrating to  some that other problems get deferred...but swapping coders from feature to feature is inefficient.

There is now a new firmware with an Erase function.

March 22 firmware?
Do you find the "erase" function by pressing "menu"?
And after you erase, I gather you "add to jukebox" once again?

Thanks!

Highlight the Jukebox+ icon in Favourites and it should then be on the Menu.
