TVRename - Tv Wall application
« on: March 09, 2013, 12:07:24 PM »
Dear TVrename users.

TVrename has been updated, this is a critical update:
Now fetches data from thetvdb.com using their new JSON API.  The old XML one is being disabled soon.

Download link:

Kind regards
Zakwaan

Thanks for this program. I have the med600x3d now for 2 weeks and it is a really nice media player.
At the moment i use it for watching tv shows and with this tool (i used the beta version from here) it is easy to organize them.

For those currently using the older version: Replace the old exe file with the new one.
Also please note that you will need to do a full refresh to turn on season specific images.

I used "Tools -> Force Refresh All" but my folder.jpg within the seasons folders don't update. Is there another way to force an update for the images?

Hi MaxKnall,

The App picks up that the images exists and ignores it.
You need to delete the existing images and it will be replaced with the new ones.

I've been using this app for about a month now and can heartily recommend it to anyone with a Mede8er. Very easy to use and works well

Excellent app, however I seem to have an isseu with it finding episodes in a series.
For example I have Dexter Season 1, in a folder below that I have all the episodes in Season 1 called Dexter S01E01 etc, the app finds the main season but every episode says something about missing information - Is there a way to get episode info as well as the main season? I must be doing something wrong somewhere.

starwarsclark,

Send me an image or directory listing of Dexter
Am sure it's most likely the naming or structure problem.
Should be:
Dexter         (This is the series folder)
Season 1        (This is the season folder)
       Dexter S01E01
       Dexter S01E02
       Dexter S01E03...etc

Great tool. For all those people that have been posting about series support on Mede8er - please try this tool. It makes things a lot easier and gives a nice series wall.
Read the  Mede8er 400X/500X Beginners Guide
or Mede8er 500X2/400X2/450X2 Beginners Guide

Also check the Couto X3D Newbies Guide first.

Please don't PM me but post on the forum.

Thanks for offering to help - (sorry for the delay in replying, been laying a new bathroom floor!)

OK, my structure is:
TV Series
Dexter
Season 01
Dexter S01E01

When I run TV Rename it finds the season OK, I get details about the main series but not each episode (even though each episode details appear under My Shows tab), under the Scan tab I get, for example this:
Missing (12 items)
Show         Season          Episode             Date                     Folder                                                                Episode/Filename
Dexter          1                          1             02/10/2006        \\X3d\hdd\TV Series\Dexter\ Season 01      Dexter-S01E01 - Dexter

The same problem happens with all 3 seasons of Deadwood, must be something I am doing wrong somewhere obvious.

Thanks.

starwarsclark,,

Is it possible for you to do a print screen of your folder layout and post it here or email it to me?

Hi, is this what you need?

Structure:

HDD in Mede8er

X3D...
HDD1...
TV Series folder
Dexter folder
Season 1 folder
Dexter S01E01 folder etc, each episode is in it's own folder and there are 12 episodes in season 1
In the episode folder there is;
About jpg
Dexter-S01E01-Dexter (this is the actual episode MKV)
Dexter-S01E01-Dexter (XML)
Fanart jpg
Folder jpg

For Episode 2 folder you have as per above but only the episode MKV and folder jpg are in there, nothing else is written into this folder

K...now I get you.

Don't create a folder for each episode.

Just throw all your video files into Season 1 folder.....do this for each Season as required.

Season 1        (This is the season 1 folder, and your season 1 video files must be all in here)
       Dexter S01E01
       Dexter S01E02
       Dexter S01E03...etc

Season 2        (This is the season 2 folder, and your season 2 video files must be all in here)
       Dexter S02E01
       Dexter S02E02
       Dexter S02E03...etc

and so on......
