Was really sure that the rule was 1 movie = 1 folder. But I confess that I never tested anything else  ;D

Yes it is still one movie per folder but you can have a sub folder with another movie, where I've never tested it is with video_ts folders or folder bluray rips

Update

All being well I'm hoping to have the first beta ready sometime this weekend.

Initially this will be a very simple beta. It will search your movie shares for Mede8er XMLs generated by MyMovies. It then moves these XMLs, about.jpg and folder.jpgs to a Jukebox location specified by the user. Finally it amends the moved XMLs by adding a Filelink entry to point back to the original movie folder.

The existing functionality allows you to aggregate multiple movie shares across multiple devices into a single jukebox. I've tested this with NFS and Samba shares and all seems good. I haven't done any testing with USB drives attached to the Mede8er or the 1000x3D internal hard drive. In theory it should work though.

The utility does require the user to specify a Mede8er path - this is the path that the Mede8er will use to access the film. It works on exactly the same principle as the Dune Path in Yadis. If you use NFS you must know what your mount points are. I will provide some examples when I get round to posting the first beta.

This sounds great. ;D

I expect it would not be limited to My Movies and would work for any folder structure that contains Movie folders and Mede8er xml and images inside eg Y2M generated etc

Possibly I've never used Y2M.

Basically it scans a directory tree for about.jpg, folder.jpg and XML files that have the correct structure. It then moves the files and edits them in the process.

It's not particularly complicated but it is the first time I've programmed for about 7 years and the first time in C# so I'm very rusty though Im enjoying the process. I'm going to make it available to people once I've put in a bit of error handling and moved some of the settings into a config file.

The intention is to develop it further so that there is a mode where you can select which individual films go into which jukebox - I want to have a separate jukebox for my children.

Sounds like it will work for Y2M so you may well be a rather popular guy in this forum ;D
Can I suggest to rather copy the files and leave the original files intact.

This dummy Structure would be good for your testing and contains the Y2M generated xml files

I can get it to work with these files, need to make a few changes as these files are slightly different from the MyMovies ones, they have attribute values in the elements, so currently fail my XSD, but nothing major.

Just to recap I don't alter the original files, everything gets copied to the jukebox location and then edited, noticed I said moved in the earlier post - meant to say copied

Those attribute values in the elements are not used so if it helps you can just ignore them.

I've made a couple of adjustments to ignore the attribute values and have managed to process the XMLs in your jukebox demo fine.

Great. Once you ready happy to give your app a test. I would suggest you limit access to the first lot of Alpha testing.
We can assist with this.
