05/2013: Updated to v0.2

Since I have a lot of different Genres, changing them by hand would require too much effort, so I have written a very small utility, which does that for me. Since it seems to be stable and worked for my collection, I'd be happy to share it with you guys. I uploaded the C++- source code to your FTP-Server:

ftp://ftp.mede8er.org/trackListGenreFixer/trackListGenreFixer-v0.2.tar.gz

What it simply does is parse the XML-structure of the TrackList.xml and replaces the Genre Numbers by the according Genre String according to the Id3-Spec. The output is written into a new XML-File, which can be re-scanned by Mede8er.

Before you try it, backup your existing TrackList.xml and Music.db!

$ ./trackListGenreFixer ./TrackList.xml ./TrackList.xml.new
Genre found! Replacing 9 with Metal
Genre found! Replacing 15 with Rap
Genre found! Replacing 88 with Celtic
Ignoring Genre: MyOwnGenreString
Genre found! Replacing 13 with Pop
Writing result to: ./TrackList.xml.new

Check the output file for consistency. If everything looks good,
copy it to your Mede8er-directory, remove the Music.db and do a
re-scan.
