@ Insomniac, Have you created any templates for the Mede8er? I went and browsed the links you provided and came across this post http://www.tvixie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=555After seeing that, I started thinking, how do I; 1) Could I use those type of templates? 2) is there a "howto guide" somewhere? 3) go about implementing that template into my Mede8er? Regards

1) The template format you use should be dependant on your screen format - 4:3 or 16:9; Thereafter the design is pretty much up to you - what fields do you want where. I used a standard TVixie template. You can use any of those provided and decide for yourself what you like best and what suits the format of your display. I will admit though that Movie GUI Builder is easier to use and you can manipulate the results (i.e. edit the details). I prefer under-stated, simple designs. 2) There is a 'quick-guide' on the TVixie site - the trick is to have one movie per folder and search per folder - the movie will not be found if you search using the movie file itself. Including the year in the folder name increases the chance of a successful scrape - use IMDB to search for the name of the movie and include that date. 3) Once you have your movie info jpeg, save it to the movie folder, e.g. as 'about.jpg': moviename (CCYY) [folder] ->moviename.avi [movie] ->about.jpg [movie synopsis] Then, on browsing the folders, you will see the movie 'about.jpg' displayed on the right - pressing the ||> button on the remote displays this at full screen without having to go into the folder. Good luck!

I use both movie gui builder and Tvixie. I pretty much just use movie gui builder for the facility to be able to put all files in folders of the same name as the filename with one click. TVixie is very straightforward when it's tweaked a little bit. I use the WDTV profile with modified 720p templates (different for series and movies). I'll upload the templates I use if anyone's interested. You can easily edit the xml file within TVixie to change the model in the right hand corner from WDTV to Mede8er. In the same file, you can change the default jpeg output filename to about.jpg. Works good for me. Only trouble with it is, I wish you could create the same layout for Music. There are no music scapers included.

Hi sarje,
If you zip it you can upload it - I restricted the extension types in case someone decides to upload tifs, etc...
What extension are you dealing with - I can add them to the 'allowed' list.

Does anyone perhaps know of a tool like Tvixie that can automatically scrape fan art from themoviedb.org for the background, or is there a way that Tvixie can do it already? cheers

The Tvixie templates are in a folder and contain .png, .jpg and .xml files. I think zipping them is a better option. Thanks Insomniac.

@sarje I've added XML files to the list of allowed files - PNG and JPG have always been permitted. Zipping is still the preferred option - please post your templates - PM me if you have any problems. @jbense Does anyone perhaps know of a tool like Tvixie that can automatically scrape fan art from themoviedb.org for the background, or is there a way that Tvixie can do it already? Movie GUI Creator can do it with a bit of playing in the preferences - select preferred source site and indicate what you want downloaded, i.e fanart only.
