Title: Cannot delete corrupted folders on HDD
Post by: Veter on July 18, 2019, 07:52:04 PM
Hello,

I have several folders on the HDD connected to MED600X3D that got "corrupted" after usage a scraper.
They contain several jpg files with 0 size which cannot be deleted.
Folders themselves can be renamed, but cannot be deleted as well.

Would be very grateful for some advice/workaround.

You must connect to a PC and run Tools, under Properties.
Once fixed used the USB Removal tool linked in many places. Windows often corrupts the drive using  its inbuilt Safe Removal.

Thank you for your response, jer1956.

Currently from my PC I can access MED600X3D as a network device and HDD connected to it, but I cannot delete folder from there as well.

Do you mean that I need to disconnect HDD from MED and connect directly to PC?
OK, I can try this. However what do you mean "run Tools, under Properties"?
Properties of a folder in Windows Explorer do not contain 'Tools' tab.
Could you please clarify?

Thank you.

It is not a Network Device tab. You only get the Tools Tab when directly connect via USB.

Hi Jer,

do you mean Properties\Tools\Error-checking?

And one more question please: you mentioned the USB Removal tool. Must I use it for sure, or it would be safe enough if I shutdown my PC (without usage the Removal tool) and disconnect HDD when the computer is switched off?

Thank you.

Hi,
I had the same issue. I did what JER1956 suggested and it works. Only on my Windows 10 Ent. its called something different. in Windows, Right click the MED1000 Harddrive, Properties, Functions, - click Investigate.
After Investigation is done, it said errors were found, and Choose Yes to fix them.
Problem solved.
