Aha, the 500X2 is connected to the internet, so must be able to access a timeserver.
However, initially the 500X2 was powered up without internet access but has been rebooted many times afterwards. ;-)

Did you already tried to shut it down, unplug power - replug power and boot it up with internet connection available?

Setting it in standby is different then unplug power.

Yes, I did.
This happens during the installation of new firmware right?

Mine seems to be random. Can't nail it down to any menu yet. Will post if I find out any more.

I don't have internet access on mine.

I'm on 1.0.3 and have similar problems with the remote jumping 2 at a time.

This was only during setup. When i'm in the main screen there is no problem. The remote is good, i also tried it with my Logitech Harmony remote and had the same problem;s

It can be just some timing isue. Holding a button to long. And with a logitech harmony you get finetune this repeat behaviour of a button in logitech setup.

At first I also thought I just held the button for too long. But, no, it happens too often for it to be that. I have no problems with any other remote doing this, so it isn't me!

No it isn't you. But i recall you saying you don't have a networked box, and hence a poperly intialized clock chip.

No, my unit is not connected to the internet and I gave up setting the clocks on any of my gear long ago as the power goes off too often around here!  Roll Eyes

(Nothing seems to keep time during a power failure! The only thing I reset after a power failure is my bedside clock!  Cheesy)

No it isn't you. But i recall you saying you don't have a networked box, and hence a properly initialized clock chip.
I think the code should be modified to cope with either network less mediacenters of remote control timing issues.
I have many devices that are operated via remote and none of them has this behavior.
My guess is that it's a bug in the code.
