yes, this is one of the reasons that i recommended to have video output set to PAL  as system default.  i say PAL and not a fixed HDMI because others can use tv set's with no HDMI input.

It was an unexpected problem. I didn't have it with any of the betas and they all defaulted to HDMI auto. Anyway problem solved and others can benefit.

The last beta release (beta7 and beta8) has MD5 hash, but this latest release doesn't have.
I suggest that in every firmware release has MD5 hash.

After install video output is set to pal output like it should be.
Regarding video wall search Sad . .. Is based by jumping to the first movie which name start with letter input by user.  I find more easy to navigate trough pages by pressing button numbers. I got 3 moviewall shortcut to movie folders and 2 of them have more then 25 pages and always have a idea about any movie location.
I remark the Samba improvment, it is not much but is there.

I find that moviewall eat to much resources when navigate trough movies by pressing or keeping pressed the left / hi button. Sometimes you fine out that from page 2 jump to page 8 or 12.
Thinking at GUI 2.0 i like features like input history, don.t know about prefilled text or other etc, but is to chinesse. It look like old sigma gui and his concurents. I hope that Sanji will add his custom view and work to this.

This SDK have same root but it has optimized code. So for so good. Still need + ++

To all sifu,

Just bought Med500x last week and everything work fine. Have read manual and advice to update with new firmware if available from mede8er website. From System Info stated my med500x firmware is V2.1.1(?) and mede8er website have firmware V3.0.5. So I decide to update and follow the recommended procedures as stated from forum. Upon *installation completed*, my screen just hang as pic below.

Sorry find difficulty to upload picture. Anyway the said setup screen that hanged have this "Menu Language/Wired Lan Setup/Time". Problem is non of the buttons either on the remote or on the console responded when pressed. Even pressing the power button to switch off does not respond.

Have tried all the recommended corrective actions from this forum and was not successful. Even formatting thumb-drive with HPUSBFW_v2.2.3 and tried with 0017L_bootloader_patch also was not successful. The same *setup page* as mentioned above still remain and no respond when pressing the any button either from the remote or on the console.

Below is the best info of my system that I can give:
Med500X V2.1.1 (?)
-[inside card # HMC-M031-DD(C+P) ]
Console S/no : ME050810006974
Card S/no : M1017AA1915
Panasonic Plasma TH-42PV8HM

Should have taken down all the info from the System Info. Thats my mistakes. Regret.

Appreciate any help and links that can help me overcome this problem.  Thank you in advance.

Why are you talking about update to 3.0.5?
We now have V4 final and suggest to upgrade to that version following the upgrade instructions step by step.

 - Now press the on/off button (on Mede8er unit - not remote) - keep it pressed in for 10 seconds and then release OK
 - The LED on the front fascia of the Mede8er with flash red-blue OK
 - You will get a progress bar on your TV display (some TV's will not display this) OK
 - Wait until the Mede8er re boots itself +/- 90 sec NEVER ENDS !!! freezes on mede8er logo
 - Your Mede8er is now updated; --
 - Re-boot once by pulling power and use as normal --

please help !

Tomo,

I expect you have a unit with version 17 bootloader?
Please check on the back if you have a blue dot sticker. If not, please reread the release notes speciall regarding the patch to install first.

Also read this, it might also be an usb stick issue:

Did you read the latest post?
Your stick might not be usb 2 compliant, and your other stick was.
Or there was some hidden parition on the stick that gave the issues.

i read the posts, thanks.
obviously it was problem with stick, what is confusing that installation went well until reboot (like i had bootloader issue). that confused me.

thanks again.

The update procedure uses an usb stick, has nothing todo with attached platform.
