I am experiencing problems to navigate DVD menus when playing back DVD files.  Instead of navigating the menus, the navigation buttons controls the volume and playback speed.

Does anybody know how this can be fixed?

EDIT - Marked as solved

Hi tjscott,

The arrow buttons on the remote are required to navigate DVD menus, so the enhanced movie control functionality has been disabled during DVD playback.

For all other movie and music files, UP and DOWN controls volume, LEFT and RIGHT controls Rewind and Fast Forward respectively, and the ENTER button provides Pause and Play toggle functionality so that your thumb doesn't have to travel far during these operations - this also assists in not having to look at the remote or turn on the lights in a dimmed room...

Enjoy the show...

Insomniac

This morning, the problem is back again.

When I received the unit last Saturday, it was working fine.  A day or two later the problem started.

Yesterday I upgraded the firmware.  After that it was working fine.  I swithced it on this morning and the problem is back again.

What are the DVD file types you are playing?
ISOs, IFOs or VOBs?

I've just checked that launching the VOBs directly doesn't disable the enhanced arrow-key functionality - but launching the IFOs or ISOs does.

If you want menu navigation functionality then launch the IFO - the set of large VOBs is the actual movie and thus launching that doesn't provide for menu navigation - so you can just back those up onto your HDD and launch the movie directly with the enhanced arrow key functionality.

Insomniac

Starting the DVD from the IFO solves the issue.

Thanks
