Hi Willey,

Great to hear that your internet problem is solved now.

Just some basic advise regarding future steps discovering the possibilities of your new toy (mede8er):
- just take small steps at a time
- read the mede8er beginners guide step by step, it is made for those people that are no expert on tech stuff, e.g. networking and to share my personal experience and prevent others to find out the wheel again. I know, it is not perfect, but a good start. I tried to capture all the genereal questions here on the forum with the answers I could find.
- if you still can't find an answer to your question there, try the search option on this forum. A lot of questions are already made with good answers
- if you then still stuck on a question, don't be afraid to post a question on this forum. There are a lot of experts around that really enjoy to help others to come to a solution  Smiley Best way is to make then a new post in the tech or bug or general section (choose the one that fits best) and not to post in postings of others. It will mix things up and make it more difficult to keep overview and get the right responses to get fast to a solution.

Cheers,
Maasbommel

Hi Duff,

No, it should also work on 1.2.2a
You probably press select when you are one level to deep. Just give it a try when you see the name of the radio station and not one you are one level deeper where you select one of the streaming links.

Hi Massbommel

thanks for the response, but no I am trying it on the radio stations names when they first come up after selecting Internet radio  and either list by station names or list by type of station, but I always get the symbol appear in top left showing not acceptable option when pressing select.

Any suggestion welcome

thanks

Hi Duff,

I am just thinking the root cause might be that you have no internal hdd installed that it is not possible to save favorites of radio stations. But I am not sure.... Let's see if somebody is reading this post that has also no HDD installed and can confirm this.

The only problem I have with Internet Radio favourites, is that when it displays duplicate names when you have more than 1 page of them. But I am able to store the favourites properly, if I only store 10 or less. Oh, and this is obviously without a HDD installed.

The only difference is that you use 2.0.2 and Duff uses 1.2.2a if I am not mistaken...

Duff,
Can you confirm you are on firmware level 1.2.2a?

hi Maasbommel
yes that is correct. I understand that v1.2.2a is the latest recommended version for those without an internal hdd installed.

Hi Duff,

You are right regarding 1.2.2a.

You might try the following to get it to work;
reload 1.2.2a firmware and use FW recovery mode to load is:
- put 1.2.2a on a usb stick
- power off you mede8er (unplug the power jack when it is in standby)
- put usb stick in lower usb port
- plug back power jack
- press power on for 10 secs and then release the button
- mede8er should start loading the firmware
- don't use config restore option, but set all setting manually again
- set on standby again, and unplug power
- after 30 secs put power jack back an start the mede8er
- verify if saving favorites is working....

If this steps don't give a solution, you might try 2.0.2, to verify it is working under this version.
But if your mede8er get's instable, downgrade again to 1.2.2a by fw recovery mode.

You might also consider to wait for the new 3.0 version firmware to be released.

Thanks for the advice Maasbommel

before I embarke on this exercise are you aware when v 3 is expected to be released, as this seems the preferable option?

Hi Duff,

Difficult to say when v3.0 will be released to the open, there are some things still to be fixed by the dev engineers and then it needs a re-test. I would go for the reload of the firmware using recovery mode as I have described above if you don't want to wait any longer....

Hi Maasbommel

I was waiting for v3, but with the announcement of the delay and the public release of v2.1 should I now be trying that first, or should I still stick to a reinstall of 1.2.2a.

thanks

Hi Duff,

As version 2.1.0 also is supported for configurations with no HDD installed.
I would say: give it a try and let us know if it solved your problem.
