hi my mede8er seems very unstable since updating the firmware, wish i wouldn’t have bothered tbh as it was running fine before but I thought it best to keep it up to date lol.. also cant remember what firmware was on it.

my mede8er has a red sticker on the back if that helps, and a wd blue 2tb hard drive.

when i browse the folder within media liberty it just hangs on random folders, i do have pictures inside them made using YAMJ 7 but this hasn’t been a problem before, I have to turn the power of from the wall to restart it as its just dead and the power off button does nothing.

So would anyone know if this is a common problem with this new firmware or if I need to change anything in the menus, or even use a different program to make the thumb pics etc “that’s if this is the problem”

If there a limit to the amount of movie folders you can have within anyone folder?

Or

Please could you anyone recommend a more stable firmware,  even a custom firmware that is stable would be cool.

many thanks for any help with this Smiley

You are the first mentioning this regarding 4.0.5 so my guess is one of 2 reasons:
- you have a corrupted fw install, redownload the 4.0.5 firmware and install it using firmware recovery mode and don't do a config restore but set all settings manuallly again in setup
- you have some issue with your disk filesystem. Connect your mede8er to a pc by usb cable and run chkdsk on the disk to check the filesystem for errors and if there are any - repair them using chkdsk/f

Hey Maasbommel

I installed the 4.05 4 times, in the normal way and the emergency way. Each time without any problem. But the system hangs very often and when you play a movie 32 times the speed or less it hangs too.
Are there users where it runs without probs??

No, no other users mentioned this.
Did you try to check your filesystem on your disk as suggested?

But from which  version did you upgrade? Lot's of users had problems upgrading to  4.0.4...and 4.0.5 is just a tweaked version of that.

Connect your mede8er by usb cable to your pc.
If it gives a message that your internal disk needs to be repaired, just thick to repair and then ok.

Or open a dosbox and do a chkdsk/f on your mede8er drive letter.
