I have a problem using my Med500x with my amp. The amp is set to use the HDMI on Video 2 (Where it is plugged in.) When the mede8er boots, it displays the logo and them the tv goes to the blue screen (No signal) screen. Then I have to switch between video 1 and 2, play with the audio etc until it comes up again.

The amp has a HDMI trigger, which is the only thing I can thing that may be causing it. It has 8 slots which can be set to 1 or 0.

Does anyone have ideas?

The initial stage uses the bootloader...and this works using SD. Once the main code is loaded by the bootloader..that institages the transfer of what is called the HDMI Edid from the TV.  This has been known to hang the Med. What you need to do is boot using analog..which should work and allow you to set the output to a fixed HDMI output using Setup, from it's default of HDMI Auto. Then try booting connected via HDMI.

I see that you say it will work after a few key presses on the TV. That is the time to change the 500x Setup from HDMI auto.

Ok, how do I change the bootloader to analogue. Is there a set of instructions somewhere? Or is it just a change in the setup?

And yeah, the mede8er sometimes hang during bootup.

I added to  my post that if you can get it to start after a few key presses on the TV..that is the time to enter Setup and change the Video Output.

Video System (HDMI Auto / 480p / 576p / 720p 50HZ / 720p 60HZ / 1080i 50HZ / 1080i 60HZ / 1080p 50HZ / 1080p 60HZ)
Set this to the highest rate possible as supported by your TV set.
Preferred not to set to HDMI Auto to prevent any HDMI autosync problems (black screen/flickering screen).

Found that. Was set to Pal, changed it to 1080i. Will see if this improves it and let you know.

Edit: Looks like it has fixed the problem

Your amp may not be passing through the TV's edid...and it's own is limited to 1080i.    Getting some HDMI amps to work with 1080p Tv's is a problem you will find on Amp forums
