Mede8er MED500X is frozen once it turns on and does not display anything.

Hi, my friend just bought a new Mede8er MED500X, he connected it to his pc, tried to copy some movies over, the copy process froze and he turned the machine off, when he turned it back on he is unable to connect to it again on the pc, I cannot connect the unit to my computer ether. When you turn the unit on and plug it into a tv, it says no signal on the tv. if you push the "tv out" button or the "tv sys." button 4x, nothing happens. the only way to turn it off is to unplug the power.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you get video via analog? It sounds like yor firmware might be corupted, so you need to do an emergency install of 4.0.4.

Nothing displays if I use the RCA connectors that come with lt.

So we when you plug the mains in...you do not get a red led?

I get the red light, I then press the power button on the remote and the light turns blue. from there I am unable to see or do anything on the machine, I have tried pressing the tv sys button 4 times like i read in the other forums but I still get nothing. If i press the power button on the remote again, the light remains red

If you don't get the big blocky 8 it means the boot loader isn't loading.  The bootloader is needed to run Emergency Install. You can "try" an Emergency Install...you will have to keep the power button pressed 15-20 seconds as you wont see if anything is happening via the screen.

A corrupt bootloader is usually an RMA job.

I tried the emergency boot option but that did not work ether, I am sending it back as it is still new. Thanks for all the help and advice.

Ask if you can't "upgrade" to an X2. You might have a pay a little more.  If you don't ask....you will never know.
