Never happened before - now the unit is not switching off  - neither with remote nor with off button on unit. Only way is to remove power cable. Running a seagate 1tb hd.

Any ideas why and to rectify?

Did firmware install - still not power off function on remote nor device. No network connection, so no time from server/web? Frustrating

I would suggest you also do a filesystem check on the disk, by connecting your mede8er to your pc and running chkdsk/f from a dos box (command window).

 Hi,

I have the same problem (can't switch off unless I pull the plug) for about 5 months. 2 months ago it started to crash, you switch it on and it only shows the MED8ER logo and nothing else happens. Can;t install new SW 2.0 either, it stays stuck on logo screen, it does not initialise updating procedure after releasing Power key.

Please any tips. Do I have a broken hardware? Frustrating..

Thanks

Run chkdsk/f to check your filesystem on your mede8er internal disk as suggested above.

And installing V2.0.x firmware does only work if you have a 500X2 or 400X2, not a 400X or 500X.
So that is not broken hardware, but just installing wrong firmware.

Latest firmware for the 400X/500X is 4.0.5 which you can find in the 400x/500x firmware download section:
