Still impossible to play movies from the videowall. Am I destined to be stuck to version 3 of the firmware forever?

Look at all the posts about upgrading to V4 and you will see lots of spurious files issues resulting from not backing up  and reformatting. I can't say doing this will fix the problem because I don't recall anyone with this problem before.

He is streaming from a nas and not from a disk inside a mede8er.

My guess is that this is a compatibility issue with HDMI EDID as discussed before in this topic.
So yes, only downgrading to prev firmware will help, a version 3

My mistake. His directory structure looks almost the same as the  MED, but then again his Nas is running linux as well.

Hi guys. A quick update. I took back my 400X to where I bought because i figured I didn't want a device that would be stuck in V3 forever if I wanted it to work. I had in mind to buy the 500X2 instead, to have YUV connection which would have helped with my HDMI-EDID problem. The guys at HDland (where I bought the 400X) made a few tests and told me that for them that wasn't the problem. they gave me a new 400X and told me to try.

I tried on V3 and everything worked fine. Then I upgraded to V4BETA6 and...Everything is working fine too! (whereas before in V4BETA6 only the movies launched through the Media Library played fine, the ones launched through video wall had the audio sync problem).

But now I am thinking: the only other change I did to my installation before all the problems happened was using DUNEX on it ... I can't see how, but could it be THAT that caused the problem in the first place?

There is evidence to support the idea that a tv's hdmi input consists of a hdmi switch, and only one gets routed to edid management at any one time. So one device couls end up being managed using another devices edid.
