Hey guys,

I just installed FW 4.0.4 and as it turns out it is unable to display any kind of Chinese characters in Subtitles.
I have tried srt and sub in different encoding (BIG5,GBK, GB2312, UTF-8) and chose different encodes as settings in mede8er.

Set to UTF-8 it only displays garbage and set to either BIG5 or GBK it doesn't display anything at all. (Actually it displays numbers if the subtitles contains some)

Do you have any idea how to fix this? Installing a different font via remote control maybe?

Unfortunately installing the new FW was the first thing I did, so I don't know if they would have worked with an older FW version.

Thanks for your help guys.

Best Regards

Got it Cheesy

I copied the arialuni.ttf from my windows onto the usb and changed the name to font.ttf.

Any chance I can use the remote control to overwrite the existing font with the new one so I wont have to keep the usb plugged in? I found 7 fonts in /usr/local/bin/Resource/CC_Font/ . Which one do I have to overwrite?

Changing this would be modding and that kind of questions are only for the modding section.

Without changing the FW itself only way is to put the font on a usb stick or a cheap memory card is also a solution as it does not stick out.
