My laptop does not recognize the mede8er  500x anymore. It gives me the following message
“USB device is not regognized. Try to connect again “or otherwize replace hardware”
The past time I connected the mede8er to the computer with the USB cable it advises  to check HDD . I have done it two times but afher two whole nights of scanning and repairing, it had given me the same error so I continue without scanning the HDD the last few times. At the moment  it does not connect at all. l have also noticed that when i am browsing the the folders with te remote that it sometimes reacts slower or gets stuck. So it stil works on the TV but not as smoothly  as before.
Have installed the lastest firmware. Please advise what to do..

Is the led changing when you connect to the pc?

It did go out before when it connected properly?

Yes if I remember correcty for a short time

Did you follow the forum advice and copy your media elsewhere,upgrade the firmware,format the drive using 4.04,anc copy your media back?

I think you have 2 problems. The first is due to nor doing the above, and the second sounds like code corruption.

No unfortunately not. So I have to format de hard drive? Can I format in TV mode? Is there an other way to save the media?

Or do I have to consider it lost?

I suggest you you re-install the firmware you used when the drive was working, and do so using this advice to make sure your clock gets intialized properly, another cause of instability:-

Then check if USB slave mode is working again.

If that works you can copy your media "somewhere"...lots of us have PC's with huge drives, or external drives.

Thanks, I have access again as soon as I plugged in the network and restarted. It still get notices that i Have to check and repair the HDD. Do I need to re-install firmware and format the HDD after I saved the Media to other drive? to get deal with this Issue?

Copy your media now if you can. Then format the drive using 4.0.4.
