Hi guys,

Now the v4 stable is out finally managed too work with plugondevice it creates the driver on the player nicely.
Then you install apache and then the nzbget client. getting around the 1.5mb p/s that .has to do with the platform rather then
my connection. only one thing that i can't get  working cause i can't overwrite the read only file system is the 2mb max upload of the nzb file via web interface.

hope it was usefull for you peeps out there

props too buzzkaido offcourse

Hi Sonny12,

That's interesting for a lot more maybe here.

Are you able to post a small tutorial with the steps how you did it?

Hi guys,

A small tutorial from me to you, first download plugondevice 0.20(http://www.plugondevice.com/downloads/index.php).
*Install the software on youre pc *start the software. you get the pod installer screen, first  you go to youre http server select the adress something like this169.254. then go to repository click on the load button. select the playon hd v0.9, click on connect ,the software is gonna load the driver and then connects to youre mede8er. go to available packages select the apache webserver app install this(set this on autostart), then select nzbget install this app for the newsgroupclient (set this on autostart too) both of the apps must be set on autostart for when the mede8er starts nzbget is online after 45sec. now with youre browser go to http://192.xxx.x.x:82/nzbget-webui/ (the ip adress of youre mede8er then the last two digits is the port number. you see the nzbget web interface now you can upload youre nzb files here and let youre mede8er do the rest that means download the files and unrar them for you.

goodluck you mede8ers you,

and lets fix that 2mb max file upload thing so whe could all download 10gb+  files!

FOR NOW HERE IS THE SULOTION,e

Change the name of the nzb file on youre pc too .QUEUED .
put the nzb file in the map of youre mede8er hdd1/nzbget/nzb from here on the server downloads the nzb even if its bigger then 2mb (copy file via network offcourse)
because nzb get renames the file too QUEUED after the refresh of the server(downloading a 12.3GB file as i write) you force the program too pick it up in the list.
greets

Hi Sonny,

I gave it a try and was able to install it with your instruction.

Did some download for test and got some 820 KB/s download speed. So not really bad.
Must say this was with max speed enabled and over my Wifi bridge.

Ofcourse during download on max download rate, you cannot do anything else with the mede8er....

But this is nice to know that this Mod is possible with V4 final.

Hi Sonny,

Good news that you got a plugondevice for NZB!
I really wants to try it, unfortunality i struggle during the installation of apache v1.3.37.
I installed the POD installer and next step would be installing the apache v1.3.37.
I get a message unable to install package Telnet disconnected.

is this a problem that my router cannot find a open port?

Hopefully you can give an advice.

Kind regards,

Ar you using the sizzle mod firmware?

because the default driver of plug on device needs to create an directory in / (/opt)  and that step fails because the root file system is full.

I was able to install it on the original V4 final firmware.
The Optware/Oleg driver is not working, but the other V0.9 driver works and the packages below that driver also.

Be sure you start with a clean V4 firmware installation on your mede8er and install it immediately after you installed the firmware. Works on my Mede8er with an internal disk that was formatted from mede8er setup.

Hello all,

I also tried this.
When i click on repositoryand load this goes well.
But then i click on playonhd v0.9 and try to connect. But i get an error unable to ping local http server. (should the http server adres be the same as from my laptop?)
I think i'm not doing the settings correct, can anyone help me with this?

For HTTP you need to set it to the IP address of your PC.
And on the driver ip address you need to set the ip of your mede8er.
Your mede8er should be on and you also might need to open the port on your router.

I noticed that the best moment to load the driver and packages is directly after a fresh V4 install.

ok the settings for http are ok
and the driver ip is correct to.
and also the mede8er is on.
also today i did a fresh install of v4.
But port forwarding with my kpn modem is always a problem.
and the port number should be 23
and the login root and password empty?

Yes, password blank, login root.

You might want to give it a try to set port to 80 as this port is normally used for HTTP and open on your router.

I suggest you first try to telnet into you mede8er directly from your PC.
Is that possible?
