I tested DuneX last week, and it has replaced Yamj2med8er! It works great for me: the UI is great, you can edit the synopsis, etc. A must-have software for the Mac users.

DuneX is very good, yes. If you still like to use YAMJ, TOMY: http://www.inhousedesignsinc.com/is also useful too.

It's very easy, take a look at the Dunex user's guide here: http://www.dunexapp.com/downloads/Du...nced_Guide.pdf

I had a look at the manual and obviously no reference was made to mede8er devices, the app is made for Dune players. Can anybody shed any light on how it could be used? Tried the steps mentioned on my 500x2 but no luck. Cheers, Frans

Hi Frans, take a look at preferences, export tab and choose the Med500 from the device list:

Hi, I want to buy a Mede8er MED500X2 so I was reading a lot about it. I just found this thread and I tried DuneX but when I export to Med500 I only get images (cover and background) but no movie information on them.
But if I export to Dune format I get the images with information on it.
How must I do to get these beautiful menus in "my future" Mede8er Med500X2?
Thanks.

Try dunex's own website. There are very few Mac users here.

Hi, I have e mede8er 450x2. I tried Dunex but it doesn't really work with the 450x2. I think the xml file is missing. Does anybody tried dunex with the 450x2 and found a solution for that?
Thanks

DuneX indeed produce an XML file, but it uses to store its library AND movie info. This XML resides in the DuneX configuration folder, usually in your documents folder. Images produced by DuneX (setting export for TVixie) are called folder.jpg (the cover) and tvix.jpg (the background). You need to rename tvix.jpg into about.jpg in order to let the mede8er recognize it. The real problem is that you'll miss the aMovieName.xml file that mede8er uses to display info in jukebox mode and to produce the mede8er.db when you scan the folder/favourite.
So, what you need (maybe me too) is an application that reads DuneX xml library, adjust images name according to mede8er standard and produces a movie info XML for each movie, named and placed accordingly.
If there enough request of such a program I may try and write down some code for OSX...
