hi everyone,
i am having a problem trying to view the about.jpeg while in video wall.

i just cant seem to be able to get the about.jpeg image to be visible when using the video wall. i have used YAMJ to Mede8er (latest) to create the required folder and about images.

the dvd covers (folder.jpeg) are visible and working fine it's just when i select a dvd the screen then goes all black (this is when the about.jpeg should be visible). if i press enter again the movie will start or if i press return then i go back to the video wall.

i am sure i have it all setup corectly
Movies>
Back to the future (1985)>
Back to the future (1985).avi
about.jpeg
folder.jpeg

should i try and use thumbgen instead to create the required files? i havnt tried yet as initially thumbgen seems a little daunting so i've stuck with using YAMJ to Mede8er for the last few nights (and you know where that got me )
BTW, my about.jpeg are 1280x720 in size.

but if anyone could shed some light on possible solutions it would be very much apreciated.

two things,
Browse your about.jpg via media library, is it visible ?
How big is your about.jpg file ?

yes when browsing i can see the about image. and size from memory is about 400k (not home to check at the moment).

could it be i have it setup wrong? should it be bmp or png instead? or even a larger or smaller size file?

it should be jpg (as output from Y2M), and size is not exceed 1MB (for fast loading).
if this issue only affected on particular folder, try to rename it to Movies/Back to the future 1985/, then try again from videowall. but if all folder affected, then you have to reinstall firmware.

Is your movies folder in the root directory?  I think that Mede8er only supports two levels deep.  Just something to check...

. but if all folder affected, then you have to reinstall firmware.

thankyou, that was the problem.
somehow it was a bad upgrade as i used a 1gb flash drive. i re-installed latest firmware again with a 2gb flash drive(did a full format first) and now everything works fine.
thanyou to all Smiley
