Yeah, I also have some movies that have unsupported GMC. Plays fine in windows but scrambled in the mede8er. The mede9er should try and support this if the cpu can handle it. VLC media player can handle unsupported GMC which is software.

try to read all posts from this topic.

Yes, I did not read the previous post because it was very technical. I still don't understand it  all after a second read. That's why I said "if the cpu can handle it". Implying that I was not sure at that time if the cpu can handle the encoding. As I did not read all the previous post(quite technical for me).

Anyway it appears that the mede8er can't handle it Embarrassed

I hate re-encoding as you will degrade the quality of the video. Try and re-encode the original source or download different version of the video that is compatible with mede8er. Quicker to download if you got the bandwidth the re-encoding with a slow computer.

Hi All

For what its worth....from time to time we receive video files with "unsupported gmc" using our Mede8er.  I dont know why people still encode files with warpoints but, be that as it may....I note that there is no simple fix from a Mede8er software point of view but it can be resolved quite easily.

Keep in mind that the challenge lies within the compression of the original file....what I do is to just uncompress (re-encode) the effected file to vob files (as you would make a normal dvd)....I have found this to be the simplest way to ensure one does not loose sound and video quality.  There are different software available to do this but I like to use Nero 10 as it works quite nicely  Grin
