Hi I decided to try v4 firmware (worst mistake i ever made) now for some reason i have completely no sound playing on any video or music file!!! on 3.0.4 it was completely fine so i decided to revert back to this older firmware and now it doesn't work on this version either and i now have a useless brick  Video playback is fine i have it connected through hdmi night mode is off its on hdmi downmix 2ch and the tv is an LG, i have 1.5tb internal western digital drive and an external 2tb seagate please help |

Never heard of this before. I really dont understand how a firmware update can cause the unit to have no sound output espeacially after you have reverted to V3.0.4. I suggest you try to do a "Restore Default" in the Setip menu. If this does not work I suggest you try re install the firmware.

ok i now have sound but it only works via old analog leads not hdmi

Just reading your posts, and understand you are back on 3.0.4 and still having issues with sound over HDMI. I suggest you unplug power of your TV to reset the HDMI ports of your LG tv, maybe you have some hanging port there. Another suggestion if that is not working, to try another HDMI port on your TV. On Mede8er setup, be sure to set HDMI video to a fixed setting, and not HDMI Auto. |

tried all these steps and its still the same, my ps3 works fine through any hdmi port so it really isnt the TV and ports themselves more the port in the unit |

just tried also on another 2 tv's and also tried 3 different hdmi cables there is just no sound now through hdmi so im left with a brick!

Maybe you just have a hw failure then somehow. Suggest to contact your reseller and get it fixed/exchanged under warranty.

yeah the company structure is a bit complicated tbh but i have emailed them and hopefully its easy to return and replace, fingers crossed |

Hello HD, I have the same trouble with audio on HDMI after the update to V4Beta4,in the beginning it works all and after a while no sound, I also reverted back to Version 3.0.4 and no sound on HDMI, only analoog sound, then , after i set de NAS off, suddenly the sound on HDMI works on all, movies en mp3?
