Because some user still use old LCD with DVI or SCART  Grin Grin Grin
And wanna eSATA for fast transfer as  me  Grin

Not sure Mede8er MED500X  have this connector or not.
Coz not open cover to re-check yet  Tongue

I think may be Manufacturing from same factory's Mede8er MED500X.

Having choice means exactly that. The same chip may be at the core, but manufacturers can chose what interface options to offer. If you find a box that suites you better just sell the old one on Ebay and replace it.
