Digital (DVI-D) with High Definition Content Protection (HDCP)
*The UltraSharp 2407WFP-HC boasts an amazing 1920 x 1200 resolution. That is greater than High Definition, which is defined as 1920 x 1080 for 1080p. Cable for testing
-Original component cable
-Original HDMI cable with DVI-toHDMI Adapter
-HDMI-to-DVI cable
*Because this monitor no HDMI connector

This look like HDMI to DVI Cable & Adapter that I use and it still show @1080i only
(No brand, Made in China)

Result of testing

Mode 720P & 1080i via Component cable / No problem

Mode 720P via HDMI-to-DVI cable / No problem

Mode 1080i via HDMI-to-DVI cable & adapter / The screen would just go black and read
out of range signal, change computer display to 19200X1200@60HZ.
***Updated after setting in service mode of Dell 2407 (Step at below)
Now Mode 1080i can display already but 1080P still unable display.

Mode HDMI Auto via HDMI-to-DVI cable & adapter / The screen would just go black and read
out of range signal, change computer display to 19200X1200@60HZ.
***Updated after setting in service mode of Dell 2407 (Step at below)
Now Mode HDMI Auto can display already but 1080P still unable display.

Mode 1080P via HDMI-to-DVI cable & adapter / The screen would just go black and read
out of range signal, change computer display to 19200X1200@60HZ.
Change to HDMI-to-DVI cable still same

Question
1. Could this be a cable or adapter issue (Not standard HDMI 1.3)?  Huh Huh Huh

2. Should be find HDMI-to-DVI cable with standard 1.3 that specify support 1080p?  Huh Huh Huh

Because I found PS3 user can play 1080P@DVI on same model monitor.

Add more detail
After find info by google, I found many topic about problem1080p can't display too.
And got adviced to find high quajlity HDMI 1.3x+ that fully support 1080p

Refer : HDMI  Resources  FAQ - http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/faq.aspx
Q. Is HDMI backward compatible with DVI (Digital Visual Interface)?
Yes, HDMI is fully backward compatible with DVI compliant devices. HDMI DTVs will display video received from existing DVI-equipped products, and DVI-equipped TVs will display video from HDMI sources. However, some older PCs with DVI are designed only to support computer monitors, not televisions. Consumers buying a PC with DVI should make sure that it specifically includes support for television formats and not just computer monitors.
Also, consumers may want to confirm that the DVI interface supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), as content that requires HDCP copy protection will require that both the HDMI and DVI devices support HDCP to properly view the video content.

Q. What is the difference between a “Standard” HDMI cable and a “High-Speed” HDMI cable?
Recently, HDMI Licensing, LLC announced that cables would be tested as Standard or High-Speed cables.
Standard (or “category 1”) HDMI cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 75Mhz or up to 2.25Gbps, which is the equivalent of a 720p/1080i signal.

High Speed (or “category 2”) HDMI cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz or up to 10.2Gbps, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals
including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates from the Source. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600).

Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to use HDMI Auto on the med500? I could imagine handshaking capabilities when the display supports 1200 and not 1080 creating problems. Try overiding the med500 output using the Tv Sys button.

Hi jer1956,
Thank you for your adviced
I was try test setting MED500X video to HDMI Auto already.

Result
Before I use trick setting Monitor i nservice Mode / Black screen no dispaly

Now show but when check solution from feature Minitor information.
I found screen display @1080i only not 1080P

*I compare 720P vs 1080i , 720P no flicker like 1080i but less sharpen.

Unfortunately your not going to get pin sharpe video as your set is not native HD TV. The dell is going to have to scale any HD TV input to 1200 lines. You see the same thing with a PC and  a monitor. Only when the output match's the monitor's native resolution do you get a pin sharpe image.

Most widescreen LCD monitors now stick to Hd resolutions for that reason.

If you thought you'd got a bargain it might be they are dumping non HDTV resolution monitors to make space for HD TV resolution ones.

i am fully agree with  jer1956,

what you got , or better say - your monitor (because your tv is nothing more then a PC monitor with many connections and some extra capabilities, but this doesn't help in this case)...
so, your monitor will not work with mede8er because signal id identification is bad........here only the producer can help by fw upgrade and if his hw support this (most of time it support, but is very possible that your product is just a dead line )

try to digg more and find if service menu can do some tricks......hard to believe that a 1200px doesn't suport 1080p resolutions , but not impossible ..how i earlier say, wrong id interpretation or even hw incapabilities - video matrix fault.

what you can do is to try to find a media player with game mode support, change your tv or stay with 1080i.

sorry, but i dont see any solution here....more support can be offered by DELL witha fw upgrade , but i have big doubts.
sorry again

I don't think it's a cable issue. Your getting the same message as you got with 1080i before you tweaked the Service Menu settings. This is a configuration issue. Two devices which most users have no problems with don't work well together.
