Regarding the Audio Data Receive error, probably due to unsupported codec of the media. Supply some Media Info output of this file and post it here, so people can respond.

What does the video look like when played from the camcorder directly?
I looked at a few reviews and this camera create problems. Although it's an AVCHD camcorder it wraps it's files in AVI. Sony Vegas, probably "the" PC video editing package can't open them and sites the contents as unrecognisable. Why oh why do companies have to do something different when a perfectly adequate standard exists? Toshiba have also decided HD camcorders might as well be fixed at 60hz since all HD TV's play both 60 and 50 hz video. Of course if you output via analog in Pal regions you get 60hz PAL, which not all PAL TV's are happy with.
Further investigation shoes that toshiba have chosen to use their own version of AVC which isn't complient with AVCHD and hence couldn't be packaged that way. It probably only plays on a PC after you install the toshiba software, which includes a toshiba codec. I think toshiba are working on the basis that people who buy cheap camcorders tend to play video directly from the camcorder.

I think your best hope is try repackaging using mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix and see what happens. If that plays then the problem was the use of AVI. Otherwise it's the longer process of transcoding using handbrake.
Since Mpeg-4 arrived you've needed knowledge of set theory to understand what is going on! AVCHD is a subset of AVC which is a subset of mpeg-4.
PC's seem to play everthing without effort, but the reality is you will either find a player you have installed has installed more codecs or gone on the net and found a codec when you first played a file of a new type. AVCHD is not supported without effort. I think installing Divx Plus might help.
