Hi

When I stream a wmv via my PS3 or just via PC i have dolby and dts througput wile playing these files.

When i play it on the mede8er its only stereo/prologic.

Is it not supported by mede8er??? or perhaps in a near future firmware update?

All other files such as MKV i have no problems listening to dts/dolby files.

WMV HD dosn't use DD or DTS, but WMA Pro. WMA Pro isn't "supported" as such.  It could be  a licensing issue as the box must have codec in order to create stereo from WMA Pro.

I checked  further. You have to understand that WMA Pro was created for PC's. Microsoft guidelines state that where a PC dosn't support surround, and by that I mean dosn't have a surround sound card decoding the audio to multiple analog outputs, players are expected to "fold down" the audio. WMA Pro 5.1 is folding down into "matrix" stereo, i.e Pro-logic. 7.1 is "always" folded down into stereo. The idea of an external device connected by Spdif was not considered. PC's have always had to use non-microsoft directshow filters to circumvent this restriction.

If realtek stick rigidly to the microsoft spec then becuase the chip only decodes to analog stereo then it must fold down WMA Pro 5.1 and 7.1.
