hi,

i have Mede8er about one month.
few days after i buy it new firmware was released so i upgrade it.

when i watch any kind of movie thru HDMI , after 10-15 minutes i lost colors and movie is green.
then i try to synhrnonize with tv and after fev seconds it is again OK.
and after few minutes again i have green screen.

if i watch movie thru composite out i don't have this issue but it is low resolution and i dont want watch HD movies on my Full HD Sony Bravia.
do you have any sugestions.
thanks.

i think it is not problem on TV because it is two month old and picture from my laptop (HDMI) is perfect all time.

Could you try this again and provide firmware versions and model numbers as described in the technical sticky?

- Do you mean SD movies?

If HDMI is an issue then, instead of Composite (yellow RCA), you could try the Component cables (red, green and blue RCAs) supplied with the Mede8er - that will provide for a resolution of up to 1080i which for most people is hardly differentiable from 1080p.
To get to the bottom of the HDMI issue the specifics are required - also check if you TV has a firmware update.

Do not use the HDMI 'AUTO' setting - rather choose a specific compatible resolution for your TV. On certain monitors the 'AUTO' handshake doesn't negotiate the appropriate resolution correctly.

Hi,

What setting do you use on Video?
Did you try to use HDMI 1080p 50hz setting instead of HDMI Auto on your mede8er?

You could try to update you TV to latest Sony version: M8.515

What Audio settings are you using? HDMI passthrough or SPDIF?

regards,

Can you verify if it is the same issue as described here:
http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,1780.msg16155.html#msg16155

So when mede8er is on, try to toggle audio from spdif to hdmi passthrough and back again and verify if the problem is gone and not coming back until you put your mede8er to standby.

Or might be same issue as described here:
http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,445.30.html

Known bug when using HDMI and spdif on some TV's.

i think that is..... but another colour...

this thing with changing mode of sound works if i eatch movie.
if i just sort movies on HDD or search on network this is not solution

but is see philips have same problems...

my compter is conected to TV with hdmi cable and i play games on tv without sound and i don't have problems like this

Some TV's and not all Philips or Sony TV seems to give this problem on the Mede8er when using HDMI video in combination with SPDIF.
This needs to be fixed in future firmware release. Mede8er is waiting for a new SDK from Realtek to get this resolved.

Current known workarounds:
- don't use SPDIF
- or use RCA video connection (RGB) in combination with SPDIF
- or toggle once audio from SPDIF to HDMI audio and back when you start your mede8er. So no need to do it every time when you start a movie
