Sound problem [RESOLVED]

Hi Everyone. I was ecstatic to discover this product as the quality vs price is most definitely the best out there. I have sold my parents and some friends to it now as well. I seem to have a problem with my player that none of the others have. Every time I switch my Amp to another channel and back, I have to reset the sound. It also happens when I pause the movie for a long time or when I switch the player of and on again. I have to go to setup, go into sound and reselect the already selected option. My sound option does not change. It just does not play unless I reselect it. Any ideas?

Pls can you post more information about your setup. What cables are you using from Mede8er to your amp?

I use the HDMI cable that came with the player. I set it up to play to my SONY Amp which also connects a BluRay Player and a DVD to the TV. All through HDMI. My decoder uses the RGB cables. I use the HDMI Downmix option on the sound setup, but I have tried the 2-channel option as well. This did not seem to make a difference.

Firstly I suggest you use the HDMI Passthrough setting. Secondly you need  to check the HDMI audio options on the Sony AMP as you need to change one of the settings. Most HDMI amplifiers offers settings for for sound be passed through to the TV as well and I think you need to select the setting that states "amp only". Pls check this and let me know teh outcome. M8R dont sustain the hdmi signal betwen songs, from here we have clicks and pops sounds, but this clicks and pops sounds should be eliminated by the audio amp, it is not M8R fault.
M8R fault is that not sustain hdmi signal betwen songs, or doesn't refresh the hdmi, this has nothing to do with used codec for playing file, it's quite different.
But how M8R1 say , is better to use hdmi passtrough

Using HDMI means you will get what is called an EDID. Origonally for video, it was extended to include audio. This allows sink devices to send what their limits are to source devices.  If you are using HDMI Auto for the video you are "inviting" the box to look for the edid everytime, and this "may" impact on the HDMI audio. You might need to change the HDMI video to a specific HDMI setting so that both audio and video setting remain fixed.

Hi everyone. I have updated my firmware as per the email sent out with the emergency procedure. Since then, this sound issue I had has disappeared and I have had no problems. Thanks for the responses though!
