Favorites User Interface Very Slow
« on: April 12, 2019, 03:11:27 pm »
My Favorites user interface showing the movie covers has become really slow. When I scroll to the next screen, it takes about 1 second for each movie cover art to get displayed.

I have about 400 movies so I didn't know if reached a "threshold" for the MED800X3D to start slowing down. About 80% of the movies are stored on NAS and other 20% on the internal HDD. FYI, the 800X3D and the NAS are connected to a gigabit managed network switch.

It's not a big deal but I was hoping there might some settings that can improve the UI performance. So let me know if anyone has some potential solutions.

This is impacted by the size of the folder.jpg files in your movie folders. Someone else will answer and specify the optimal size (I hope) but it is less than 200x300 pixels.

200x300 pixels is quite small is it not?

Thats the space allocated on the screen.  Any bigger requires them to be shrunk...which takes time.

What's the actual, official size for the movie icons?

It should be automatic with the internal scraper. You would to go right back to a 2011 Video Wall guide to see how its done manually.
156 v 232 for a DVD/BD cover.
And abouts are 720P.

And remember the idea is for one favourite to link to a jukebox. You don't connect movies one by one to favourites.
