A Guide to Syncing Subtitles?
« on: February 10, 2019, 02:32:25 pm »
Hi All;
I have a 800x3d and am not having luck syncing subtitles. I tried positive and negatives timings with no change. Is there a procedure somewhere explaining how to delay (or advance) the subtitle to sync with the audio?
Thanks

If the subtiltes do not come with the media via a rip, there is little that can be done. Those who use a media PC can use VLC to fix loads of subtitle issues...that no mediaplay has been designed to fix.

The most difficult to fix is frame rate difference resulting from downloading the subtitles seperately.

BDSup2Sub++ (download from videohelp.com) can convert subtitle frame rates.

Movies are often released in different variations/editions on different media and for distribution through different channels and vendors. A retail BD sold by Walmart might not be the same as the one sold by Best Buy. Sounds like your subtitles were sourced from a different version of the movie than your video. One option is to look for the subtitles from the correct version.

jer/Mike;
Thans for the input
What I need to know is how to use the subtitle sync adjuster - does a positive input (+100} move the subtitle ahead in time?

If you put +1000 delay, subtitles will appear 1000 ms (1 second) later.
Another excellent application for the subtitles synchronization is Subtitle Edit.
