Hi Everyone,

This is my first post so..... "hi"  Smiley

Anyway, i was wondering, is the mede8er designed for the 5900rpm or 7200rpm 2TB hard drive?
Does anyone know which one comes with the 2TB bundled unit?
Is there a performance difference if one uses the 5900rpm with the mede8er?

Thanks

hello,
normaly , oyu should not be able to see any differences bettwen 5400 or 7200 rpm hdd's.
for streaming or playng directly any kind of video , even HD video, the 5400 rpm hdd's offer more resources then is needed.

also are more quiet, low temp, etc... are very suitable for media players.

but you must take these decisions accordingly with your needs.

PS:  dont load too much the mede8er with 2TB hdd and afer that you just fill the hdd, is better to use NAS's for big storage and for internal hdd use 1TB.
is just my personal opinion (500GB internal hdd + usb attached drives - in my case)
cheers

As Tachita, better choice is 5400. Don't look at performances test on the net. Totally useless, except (maybe) writing speed on big files. Access time, read speed on small file is not relevant.
Other bonus: lower speed is lower price also...
