Bought the mede8er Friday and I'm very impressed. Copied 150G of films to the box and everything works perfect. Even a movie that had problems on the PC with VLC player runs on the box. My compliments! I only have one issue that there is a thin green line at the top of the image that I can't remove (and an even thinner on the left side). I tried to format the screen size with the mede8er but that has no effects, the line stays. The TV is an LCD Philips that has no issue with any other devices (X-box, DVD player). Any solutions?

thanks,
Jan

Janmagyar,

probably is because you use SPDIF audio output setting, try to switch audio to HDMI.
SPDIF output , at this moment , give some hdmi hanshake issues with some tv  series, specialy on philips.
PS: also have a philips tv , but no problem on SPDIF.

Hi guys

I also have this problem since switching my sound over to SPDIF with my coax cable

Will this be fixed with the new firmware update?

This is an HDMI handshake issue - Philips sets are still causing problems.
Which firmware version are you using, Jan?
Could you try changing your video output to a fixed setting instead of HDMI AUTO and advise result?

Hi guys

Just a note that this problem still persist. Only difference is I have a Sony KLV-46V550A.

I have unpluged ,updated firmware and unpluged to make sure everything is clean from the new firmware upgrade. Chose the correct TV Sys. Blah, blah blah. So I know everything is correct.

The problem is exactly as described above. Coax and hdmi on 1080p gives this problem.  Only way to get rid of this is to turn to hdmi passthrough, but this sucks as always as the amp has better sound than the LCD. Another solution is to make the resoluton on 720p and that removes the line. Hope this can be sorted out by the Realtek, as they deal with the HDMI handshaking and all that jazz.

Note that I have only the thin line on top and not the side.
Also a big thanks for the new firmware, this is much better than the version 2 firmware variants.

I have the green line on the top right issue on a Sony, reported this a looong time ago, it was supposed to be resolved in f/w 3.0.

My workaround is quick and simple, but I have to do it every time I turn the box on.

I switch audio from S/PDIF pass through to any other audio (usually HDMI as it is the first selected) then immediately switch back to S/PDIF pass through. This works for me every time and the line does not return until I reboot the box.

Hope this helps.

Just noticed, most reports of this issue are on Sony and Philips sets.

S/PDIF == Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format.

Hi all,

My first post here

I just love my Mede8er but recently bought a sound system and plugged all in and I have the same problem.
I have a 40" Sony Bravia with the latest firmware update.

Do hope that the wonderful people working on the firmware will address it,
for it is quite annoying to have a florescent green line as part of the video .

Thanks for all the hard work in making the product just better and better.

Thanks
