Synology NEWBIES tutorial for sharing files in network (NFS and SAMBA)

Here my tips to share  files in your network using  Synology Nas using NFS protocol and samba protocol

NFS

1- go to control panel




2- go to win/mac /nfs




3- serviçe NFS > tick NFS > save





4- go to control panel > shared file




5- choose the file wish to share mine is called videos
6- choose NFS privileges





7- create new rule




8- activate assincrono > put IP ADDRESS  of X3D player or ip adress + * (asterisk) see picture



9- privileges configuration



10- make sure you have read and write permissions if you using jukebox scrapper

You should specify that this is a setup for using NFS instead of SMB.

SAMBA


Samba/SMB is enabled by default on Synology NAS.

A)Log into the diskstation manager and go to "File Sharing-Win/MAC OS"




B)  there you should see "Enable Windows File Service" and if its ticked then SMB is enabled.
