Folder rights settings
« on: April 24, 2013, 09:37:07 am »
1) Choose which folder you want to share with your Mede8er.
2) Right-click on the folder and choose properties

3) Select the tab "Sharing"
4) Press the button "sharing"

5) A new window will open, (You'll see youre username here) Choose "everyone" from the dropdown menu

6) Choose "Add" and select "read/write" at "permission level"

The Mede8er shouldn't ask for your username/password anymore. If it still does,  make sure you have followed this section in the manual

Is the Mede8er still asking for a password? This could be a blockade in your firewall. We advise you to forward TCP port 445 in your firewall(s)

Instead of sharing a folder on a PC on the LAN with 'Everyone', is there a way to input the windows account username/password into the settings of a med800x3d?

(Like my old TViX will do.)

I ask because (as I understand it) that would provide better PC security--which I care about very much--than sharing a folder with Everyone.

Not that I want to, but if the med800x3d asks for a password every time will inputting it each time work?
